Job overview
Selby High School is looking to appoint a Year Manager to oversee the pastoral care of a year group in our thriving and successful school. We are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking person with significant pastoral experience to join our team.
The successful candidate will have:
● Experience of working in a school, or other setting, in a pastoral capacity.
● The ability to form excellent relationships with students and their families, from a wide range of backgrounds, especially the most disadvantaged.
● A proven track record in improving behaviour and/or attendance.
● Extensive knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures, and the willingness to undertake training to continue to develop in this area.
● Resilience and a sense of humour, and an unwavering belief that excellent pastoral support can make a significant difference to the outcomes and life chances in young people.
