A week after a pupil at Fortrose Academy was charged with drug offences, Highland has confirmed that 70 per cent of 15-year-olds say they have been offered drugs. A survey into smoking, drugs and drink shows that 8 per cent of 13-year-olds and 24 per cent of 15-year-olds had used drugs in the previous month. Almost similar percentages were regular smokers. One in four 13-year-olds and almost half of 15-year-olds had been drinking the week before the survey. Most start at 12.
