Addled brainbox

I read with interest your article about child prodigies in the TES Magazine (“Whizz Kid”, April 17), but I am slightly confused by part of it. Under academic prodigies it lists Gregory R Smith, an American child prodigy “born in Virginia in 2003”, who was solving maths problems at 14 months. “It took him just one year to advance from second to eighth grade and he started college when he was 10.” Something is wrong with the maths here if he started college at 10 but was only born in 2003 ...
