Africa link

26th March 2004, 12:00am
Three hundred schools in Britain have now established formal links with their counterparts in Africa through the Link Schools Programme.

The programme, run by development agency Link, supports partnerships between British schools and those in Ghana, South Africa and Uganda. The aim is to set up educational bonds, including reciprocal staff visits, that will benefit the whole school.

The new connection between John Shelton primary, in Coventry, and Duusi primary, in Ghana, is the 300th such link to be made since the project began, in 1998.
