Two 14-year-old pupils from Milton Keynes have become the first winners of the Steve Sinnott Award for young global educational campaigner of the year. Bethany Law and James Simmonds, of Stantonbury Campus, will set off for Tanzania in March where they will investigate the barriers young people face to receiving an education. They will report back to politicians and young people in the UK. The award was launched in memory of Steve Sinnott, former NUT general secretary, who died suddenly last year.
