INDIA The British Overseas Development Administration has opened a new office in Delhi to take over the management of its Pounds 100 million aid programme.

One of the first projects will be a new Pounds 46.5m primary education scheme in Andhra Pradesh.

It will follow a similar project to upgrade teaching skills and provide more classroom materials, but will particularly concentrate on making sure that disadvantaged groups, particularly girls, also benefit.
