Aid for Rwanda

28th March 2003, 12:00am
FIFTY-FIVE Catholic primary schools from Birmingham, plus a number from Solihull and Sandwell, have committed themselves to a long-term project to support three schools in Rwanda. The project will help to improve school buildings and provide desks and chairs, chalk and other writing materials, garden tools, seeds and wells. Funds will also help to improve girls’

education and teachers’ salaries.

Thousands of children and hundreds of staff and parents have signed up. The target of pound;10,000 in the first year will be raised through lenten charity appeals and various fund-raising events.
