A team from Boroughmuir High has won the Edinburgh final of the Young Consumers of the Year 2007 competition.

Archie MacGregor, Calum Leslie, Ambar Pankaj (captain) and Nicola Perry (pictured from left to right), clinched victory after fighting off stiff competition from Craigmount High and Portobello High.

Boroughmuir has qualified to compete in the Scottish final in March. The winner will represent Scotland at the UK final, in Bournemouth, at the end of June. The competition, in its 22nd year, is open to pupils aged 14-18.

Co-ordinated by the Trading Standards Institute, it invites teams of four to compete in a knockout quiz which tests them on a range of issues including money and credit; food and drink; keeping safe; keeping healthy; environmental and social responsibility; and legal and consumer matters.
