Half of all Assembly Members have signed a Statement of Opinion supporting a campaign to close the educational attainment gap for deaf children. The National Deaf Children’s Society Cymru launched the campaign after its research revealed deaf children in Wales were 30 per cent less likely to achieve five GCSEs at grades A*-C than their hearing peers. The charity is now calling for more AMs to back the campaign.
