And now, the A2 sequels

A2 LEVEL BIOLOGY FOR AQA SPECIFICATION B STUDENT BOOK. By Chris Lea, Pauline Lowry and Siobhan McGuigan. Heinemann pound;17.99.

This text is also produced to support the AQA A2 specification. Although not endorsed by the board, it makes a good job of covering the two compulsory A2 modules (Module 4: Energy and Environment and Module 5: Continuity and Control).

As with their AS text, the authors have produced a new book rather than a revision of earlier material. There is less extension material than in the Collins book, but this textbook is a clearer guide to the AQA specification, and is not attempting to be more than this. Each page header is clearly referenced to the specifications and page layout is less cluttered. Questions occur throughout the text and at the end of each unit, with answers at the back.

There are also five exam-style module tests spread through the book, with answers in the resource pack. A good buy, especially if there are (older) generic texts for students interested in the extras.
