Teaching union UCAC has attacked education minister Leighton Andrews (pictured) for telling schools that they could lose up to two Inset days if they close due to snow. General secretary Elaine Edwards said the move was “entirely arbitrary” and made no practical sense, but the minister said it was important schools were “open for the business of teaching and learning”.
