Angels and devils

The Blairs may have moved out of trendy Islington just in time. Posters are appearing in local schools featuring scary faces of Tony Blair and Leisha Fullick, the chief executive of the north London borough, accusing them of being responsible for the savage cuts in services that are expected in the wake of this year’s budget settlement.

According to the local branch of the public services union, Unison, which produced the poster, Tony Blair is to blame because he was elected to improve the lot of those working in public services. Ms Fullick is to blame for wielding the axe. The chair of Islington council, Derek Sawyer, appears to have got off scot free.
