A liberal education is needed now more than ever to counter the “political ignorance” that allows American voters to be “dulled and cowed” into supporting war with Iraq, according to Lalage Bown, former professor of adult and continuing education at Glasgow University. Educational Association, Professor Bown said a liberal education provided people with the power of critical analysis.
