As the country gears up for Wimbledon, many of Scotland’s best young players have been putting their talents on display at Thorn Park Tennis Club in Bearsden, East Dunbartonshire.

This weekend sees the culmination of the West of Scotland Junior Championships. The finals will give an indication of which players can harbour dreams of following in the footsteps of Andy Murray.

The championships serve as a qualifier for the Lawn Tennis Association’s junior grand prix, with Scottish youngsters showing they can hold their own with their English counterparts.

It has been a busy week for tennis in Scotland, with the finals of the Scottish Schools’ Team Cup being played yesterday at St George’s School in Edinburgh.
