Appeal victory

ONE HUNDRED students at The Beauchamp College in Leicester have had GCSE English literature results upgraded on appeal. Thirty pupils with D-grades have now passed, while star student Melanie Keene now has 11 A* grades. The NEAB examination board is now going to re-mark another 60 papers. The school’s overall pass mark for English literature has gone up from 72 per cent to 79 per cent as a result.
