Are there racists near you?

It is excellent that the BBC has shown the racist attitudes of police officers in training to the public.

Sadly, such undercover filming could be done in many fields of work, highlighting prejudiced attitudes to ethnic minorites, overweight people, sexist remarks and so on.

What is needed in each classroom across the country is a learning programme that allows each pupil to learn how to express their own feelings about others in constructive ways.

Sadly, because so many parents and teachers have never been shown enough respect themselves they do not give the example to pupils that is so badly needed to break a vicious circle.
