Bad body image

RAKE-thin models such as Kate Moss and Jodie Kidd are creating a distorted body image which young women are trying to imitate, says a report by the British Medical Association, titled Eating disorders, body image and the media. Models are getting thinner while women are getting heavier and te gap between fashion’s body shape and reality is wider than ever, it says. The BMA wants realistic body shapes to be shown on television and in fashion magazines, as around seven million UK women have eating disorders. Anorexia affects up to 2 per cent of women between 15 and 30.
