Beachcombers

2nd February 2007, 12:00am
Twenty teachers beamed a geography lesson via satellite link from a beach in Herne Bay into a classroom in Canterbury last week.

Pupils at Chartham school were able to view the teachers from a laptop, ask questions about their findings from the beach and analyse the results by using a digital mapping resource.

The aim of the day was for teachers and pupils to discover how using digital maps can make the teaching and learning of geography more interesting.
