Pupils who are fed up with the quality of sex education at their schools are petitioning the Government through a teen magazine. Cosmogirl has asked readers to write to Tony Blair, the Prime Minister, demanding that personal, social and health education lessons should be made compulsory for all secondary pupils.

The magazine, which is aimed at 14 to 17-year-old girls, found that 31 per cent of its readers described the lessons as “absolute rubbish”.
