Your article about the writing and spelling manual from the Government (Tes, April 20) must have convinced all teachers that the Government has finally lost the plot.
They have spent thousands on writing and publishing a 170-page book recommending clss language activities that reception and key stage 1 teachers have already been doing for years, if it hasn’t already been squeezed out by tests, literacy hours and numeracy hours.
