Bother with the bullies

* Figures on the extent of girls bullying are difficult to come by but in 2005, the NSPCC joined forces with Sugar magazine to survey 992 girls across the UK. Their responses showed that:

* Two in three teen girls admitted to bullying others, even though 91 per cent were bullied themselves.

* Five per cent of bullies bully their victim “for a laugh”.

* Nearly half of victims have received threatening texts or emails.

* 67 per cent have been bullied by groups of girls, but not by individuals.
