The headteacher refuses to allow games consoles in class? Well, write to the Prime Minister.
That was the ploy adopted by Osama Hendawi, a nine-year-old pupil at St Peter’s Primary in Portishead, north Somerset. Osama believes the Dr Kawashima’s Brain Training Nintendo game would be of such benefit to pupils that he wrote to Gordon Brown saying so.
But writing to the PM can be dangerous. Last week it emerged Mr Brown is prone to randomly choose correspondents from his inbox and phone them at six in the morning to discuss their concerns.
Osama’s headteacher, Sharon Roberts, said she was pleased that pupils were playing educational games outside school hours. “I will be interested to hear Mr Brown’s views on the matter,” she said.
Just not, perhaps, at 6am.
