Bridget, visit a Guild meeting

Bridget McElroy may have thought she was being funny, but she showed herself to be out of touch with today’s Guild in her diary of December 5.

That organisation has not been called the Women’s Guild for some time, and today is known as The Guild. She is unaware of its work and the charities it supports. My church Guild is supporting work to try to bring an end to trafficking in people. In the past, we have raised money to aid research into cot deaths. We have a wide variety of speakers and none of our members has ever fallen asleep at meetings. The modern Guild has a mixed membership, male and female.

I suggest Mrs McElroy takes herself along to a Guild meeting to see what one is really like.
