Pictorial Charts Educational Trust Wallcharts: Design Comparisons Festival Friezes: Raksha Bandhan, Sukkot and Harvest Festival PCET, 27 Kitchen Rd, London W13 0UDPounds 8.45 each

These PCET packs are excellent. For Design Comparisons, the Design Council has produced photographs with an informative commentary that immediately sets up the possibility of thought and discussion about design. George Carwardine’s 1934 Anglepoise lamp is compared to Richard Sapper’s Tizio light, and an early telephone to a piece of mid-eighties hi-tech.

The Festival Friezes are highly recommended for younger primary classes, though I’m afraid that Britain’s homely Harvest Festival looks a little pale against Sukkot and Raksha Bandhan.
