Bring on CCTV in class - and let parents log on

7th January 2011, 12:00am

I have worked in schools where cameras have been put in toilets and changing rooms - the places where bullying can occur as pupils think teachers won’t go there (“CCTV is used to spy on teachers”, December 24). Provided they are correctly sited - and they usually are - there are no privacy issues.

Feedback from parents suggests they would like to log on if we had classroom cameras. The kids hate that, but I say let’s have it - with sound, too. Then parents can see just what their kids are like in class.
