Bring on the dawn raids

27th January 2012, 12:00am

I thought leaving the profession would mean that Ofsted would no longer be able to blight my life. How wrong could I be? My wife and I had planned a theatre break to London. We were on the train when the call came: an inspection team was coming in after the weekend. Even as a part-time primary teacher, my wife was immediately on alert. She caught the next train back and spent days making sure everything was “just so” for Ofsted. Roll on dawn raids - at least then teachers can get on with their lives.
