Bryson to the rescue

3rd February 2006, 12:00am
Bill Bryson, the award-winning author, is using some of the royalties from his book “A Short History of Nearly Everything” to help fund a school science competition. Pupils have to write about science in a way that others outside their age group can understand. The Royal Society of Chemistry’s prize is open to schools and sixth-form colleges in the UK and Ireland.
