Call for inquiry into CCTV use

20th May 2005, 1:00am
A police inquiry may be launched at a Northern Ireland grammar school where pupils were secretly filmed in a changing room.

The Abbey Christian Brothers school, Newry, installed the CCTV equipment in a bid to catch a thief, but footage was later seen by pupils. Brendan Curran, a Sinn Fein councillor whose son attends the school, has demanded that police investigate the matter. The camera has since been disconnected.
