A new competition has been launched to support computer-aided design in education. Sponsored by the Edexcel foundation and supported by schools minister Charles Clarke MP, the SkillCAD competition is organised by CAD software publisher Autodesk. Edexcel recently introduced a BTEC Advanced Award in Computer Aided Design.

The competition aim is to find the best young CAD expert in the UK. The finals will be held in Autodesk’s HQ in Guildford next month and the winner will represent the UK in the Skill Olympics in Montreal later this year.
