The Mathematical Association’s 1997 annual meeting on the theme of “Maths for the future and maths for fun” will be held at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, on April 2-5. Topics range from: “Primary and secondary working together” and “The left hand of darkness (The National Lottery)” to “Challenging mathematics . . . wear the kilt?”. Speakers include: John Mason, Open University, and Tony Gardiner, Birmingham University. Estimated fees from Pounds 25 per day to Pounds 200 residential.
