* Children as young as six will be turned off learning by the Government’s insistence that they hit more than 60 education targets, an early years expert warned this week, writes Clare Dean.
Wendy Scott, chief executive of the British Association for Early Childhood Education, said: “There is a real danger that the Government’s intention to raise standards will be undermined at the start.”
Her warning came in a pamphlet published by the Education Network, an independent policy, research and information organisation supported by local authorities.
