Child’s play

Scotland can look forward to an Olympian future in world swimming if East Renfrewshire’s primary 6 swim scheme is taken up elsewhere. A leaflet informs the EastRen water babies that over seven lessons they will “do work on only four strokes, breststroke, backstroke, front crawl and butterfly”. The last lesson consists of “fun or games or life-saving”.

So anyone fished out of the water by an EastRen 10-year-old will know they haven’t just been indulging in fun and games.
