Thousands of staff members from 200 colleges in England are on strike today in response to the Association of Colleges’ recommendation that its members do not offer a pay rise to their staff for 2015-16.

Members from both the University and College Union (UCU) and Unison have been picketing since this morning, with many attending rallies in London and Manchester to lobby for a pay rise.

Those on strike have received support from political parties, fellow union members and FE staff around the UK.

Dad worked in FE for more than 30 yrs - by the end worried abt funding cuts/unfair pay/understaffing 4 younger colleagues #loveFE #FEstrike

Solidarity with @ucu #FEstrike - Colleges have been hit hard and young people are suffering because of it.
