Decaffeinated

Could you ever envisage Nescafe being banned in your staffroom? That’s exactly what happened at St Catherine’s Roman Catholic Primary School in Sandyford, Newcastle. Pupils worked with Cafod, the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development on a two-year project about Fairtrade and even convinced staff to go Fairtrade in the staffroom. Their efforts paid off, winning pound;550 and The Belle Nixon trophy in a competition organised by Newcastle City Council. Pupils are putting the prize money towards another Fairtrade project.

Let’s see where and who they target next - the school canteen?
