Teachers are good at keeping discipline, say pupils. But they are less aware of other issues including bullying, teenage drinking and drug use, judging by the results of a MORI poll of 3,529 secondary-aged pupils. The poll, commissioned by the ATL, also found that ethnic-minority pupils were more likely to be worried about their safety than white pupils (26 to 21 per cent). But the actual rate of threatening incidents was similar for all pupils.
