Do the Lambeth walk

A London council is to spend Pounds 90,000 on foot massages for disruptive children, along with more traditional therapies. Children under 13 will take part in the scheme at 60 primary and 14 secondary schools in Lambeth. Practitioners claim that foot massages relieve physical and mental stress, but the benefits have not been medically proven. Opposition councillors are outraged. Paul McGlone, Lambeth’s cabinet member for children and young people, said: “It’s incredibly important that we address young people’s behavioural problems, and we make no apologies for using different and innovative methods, but this obviously won’t replace more traditional ways.”
