It’s not often that directors of education enjoy a day in the sun - the Scottish Sun, that is.

But so it proved last week for lucky Michael O’Neill of North Lanarkshire, whose thoughtful colleagues reportedly decided that he should celebrate his 50th birthday with the help of a strippogram girl. The boss of the Chills and Thrills agency in Glasgow duly spilt the beans to the Sun, which spared no blushes.

“As colleagues cheered, Vicky handcuffed the pound;70,000 a year schools supremo before taking down her particulars to reveal a naughty PVC basque,” it was revealed.

We hope the newspaper has its facts right. If O’Neill does not earn pound;70,000 a year, he should sue.
