Glasgow’s school closures scheme was lauded by Chris Mason, the Liberal Democrat leader, as a thing of vision. Usually scathing about Labour leadership, Mason commended Malcolm Green, education convener and creator of the package. But Bob Gray, education vice-convener and former Lord Provost, detected problems with Green’s prophetic vision: “He’s sounding more like Dr Martin Luther Green.”
