Imagine there is a planet near Betelgeuse that is habitable. What is life like there? What kinds of species are most intelligent, how do they travel and what do they do on a daily basis? What kinds of technologies would they need? Is the planet large and does this affect the length of day and night?

Use the patterns in stars to create objects that can be altered into products. Join up constellations in different ways and decide what each pattern could be.

Make a scale-model of a car, imagining it is Sirius B material, which would weigh the same as a real car on Earth, to demonstrate how heavy the material is. Make scale-models of Betelgeuse and our Sun to show younger students the vast size of Betelgeuse.
