eLC funding must go on

10th September 2004, 1:00am
The Department for Education and Skills has been advised to continue its eLearning Credits scheme until at least 2008. The initiative was introduced to help schools to buy digital learning content following the controversy about plans for a Digital Curriculum project with the BBC which has now been delayed. Schools are entitled to pound;100 million worth of eLCs in 2004-5. In its report on the performance of Curriculum Online the Content Advisory Board, run by the schools technology agency, Becta, said the eLC scheme had been successful and should be continued.
