Moon on the Tides

Looking for interesting ways to revise the AQA GCSE poetry anthology? TES adviser Chantel Mathias has collected a range of resources focusing on Carol Ann Duffy’s Medusa and other poems.

What is it?

A handy reference page including:

- A dramatic video reading of Medusa followed by commentary.

- A booklet containing activities and worksheets to help pupils understand language and linguistic techniques in each of the “character and voice” poems from the anthology.

- Visual and audio displays designed for the interactive whiteboard of poems from all four clusters: “character and voice”, “place”, “conflict” and “relationships”.

The collection allows pupils to hear each poem performed and offers a range of tasks including Venn diagrams, definition grids, language analysis, context and a stanza-by-stanza breakdown for close analysis.

What else?

A range of revision resources for modern and classical drama, fiction and non-fiction GCSE, AS and A level texts can be found on TES Resources.
