Murillo: Scenes of Childhood, at the Dulwich Picture Gallery, Gallery Road, London SE21 until May 13, is the first international loan exhibition of 17th-century Spanish paintings of ragamuffins and urchins, the street children of Seville.
Murillo in Context, running alongside it, is especially designed for school groups. An accompanying education programme includes young artists’ classes and a National Science Week drop-in event on March 23, which will look at how paint and pigment were made in the 17th century and examine the materials, tools and techniques used by Murillo.
