Extended success is part of the project

Let’s hope ministers heed Bristol University’s advice and ensure that all schools offer the extended project so that universities are able to give it the weight it deserves in admissions (“Extended project is new king of expanding skills”, August 27). By freeing pupils from modules and tests, encouraging creativity and demanding academic rigour, it addresses many A-level criticisms. As Government seeks to restore the credibility of sixth-form education, it cannot afford to overlook a qualification already available in some state and independent schools and has a track record of success.
