Falkirk P6 pupils offer

6th February 2004, 12:00am
* Falkirk is to offer all P6 pupils the chance to learn an instrument in line with Scottish Executive advice - but after school.

The council says it is already offering instruction to more than 1,000 pupils from P5 to S6 but that further tuition in school time will add to curriculum pressures. Space is also tight in primaries.

It hopes to recruit instructors to take small groups for up to 30 minutes a week as a top-up to music classes.
