Education secretary Michael Gove’s comments about some food bank users who, he alleged, “are not best able to manage their finances” are insensitive, misunderstood, foot in mouth or all three. Given the #163;1 billion overspend on his academies and free schools initiative, could it be said that his department also is “not best able to manage (its) finances”. Only, in that case, it is actually “our finances” that he is spending.
