Business learning accounts, set up to encourage more small businesses to train their staff, are being wound down, Allan Wilson, the Deputy Lifelong Learning Minister, said. They have been successfully piloted over three years and more employers are now involved in training. But an evaluation report recommended that there was no need for a stand-alone programme, since training support for small businesses could be offered through enterprise agencies and learndirect scotland.
