The General Teaching Council has agreed to establish teaching scholarships which it would fund initially with pound;40,000 a year from its own resources. This would release between 60 and 70 teachers a year to “reflect on aspects of classroom practice” by spending a few days out of the classroom either in other schools or pursuing a research interest.
