Is he kidding?

I don’t often laugh out loud when reading The TES - Mike Kent’s column apart, of course - but I was nearly rolling on the floor after reading Michael Gove’s article, “Why not trust teachers to set up schools?” (March 12). Is this the same man who belongs to the party which introduced the straightjacket of the national curriculum? Is this the same Michael Gove whose party introduced Ofsted and a culture of surveillance and intimidation into schools? Is this the same man whose party introduced Sats and launched the ideas of “failing schools” and rubbish teachers?

Why not trust teachers to set up schools?

Because you barely trust us to wipe our own noses.
