Headteachers urged to get share of pound;60 million

HEADTEACHERS are being urged to ensure they get their share of pound;60 million set aside to fund post-16 curriculum reforms, writes Karen Thornton.

The money represents an extra pound;278 per sixth-former.

The money has been added to education athority budgets to help pay for the staffing and training needed for sixth-form reforms this term.

Lower sixth-formers are being given the chance to study four or five subjects, including new AS, vocational and key skill courses.
