Heavy trip, man

To the Centre for Excellence in Leadership - which has been set up to make colleges better-run.

CEL has hired Howardsgate, a marketing firm which describes itself as dealing in “jargon-free black and white.”

Sadly, what passes as “jargon-free” in education can often read as waffle to the untutored eye.

Presumably that explains the firm’s recent press release on behalf of CEL’s “personal leadership journey” courses, which explains: “Leaders take part in an intensive ‘voyage of discovery’, exploring the strengths and attributes that they bring to their roles and the direction they would like to set for their future leadership journeys.”

The cost of a place on the “leadership journey”? A very reasonable Pounds 1,200.

All aboard!
